Muah

It's time for a new Riley & Company challenge. With April showers bring May Flowers theme, our challenge is to create a project using blue and yellow to represent the rain and daffodils of spring.

I have to admit I was a bit stumped at first. I don't normally use this 2 colors together. Granted, I have  the Minion as my iphone case and it's all yellow & blue, but for card.... hmmm...

At the end, I kind of take the meaning of blue in a wide sense. There's so many range of blue. So, I use light blue and slightly dark blue for my card. :)

Hehe...  what do you think of Princess moose kissing a frog? Well, moose or people, don't we all have to kiss a few frogs before we meet our prince charming? Hah....

You have 2 weeks to play along. You can enter the challenge HERE. I am also entering this card to Simon Says Stamps Keep It Clean & Simple challenge. BTW, we'll have some new releases coming up in May and I can tell you that they will make you laugh out loud! Stay tune...

Blowing Bubbles

Happy Monday. Can you believe it that we're already on the last week of April? Yikes, feels like this year just started and now we're almost pass the first quarter.

Today, I have another cute project to share as we continue celebrating the new releases from Purple Onion Designs. I am please to introduce you to Jackson & Bubbles.

I first stamped Jackson directly on the panel and then masked it and added the background. For the background, I used the Memory Box Texture Honey Comb Designer stencil & inked it partially. I love the way it turned out.

Oh, for the bubbles, I covered it with clear glaze to create the wet look of bubbles. It didn't show on the picture, but in person the bubbles has s nice sheen to it.

I've been so amazed by the gorgeous samples that Purple Onion Designs team has created! These team got skill!! Thankful to be playing along with the team for this release.

BTW, as you may or may not know, I love going to the movies! It ran in the family. And, when I see a good one, I like to share. This weekend I went out and saw The Other Woman, oh goodness.... it's hilarious!! It's my favorite comedy for this year. It's funny and very enjoyable. I would so totally see it again. So, if you need something to do this weekend, go see this one. :) Have a great week, everyone.

Purple Onion Designs: Robin

Hi there crafty peeps. Today I have another sweet card to share as we continue celebrating the new A Beautiful Day releases by Stacey Yacula Studio for Purple Onion Designs.

With this releases there are 39 stamps total being released (which for a limited time only you can purchase the whole collection at 30% off).

Here's my card using Blossoming Perch, Robin (flying bird) and A Beautiful Day! sentiment. Seriously, this releases is filled with so much cuteness & sweetness.

To make the bird looks like it's sitting down on the branch, I simply cut the tail apart and glue it right under the branch and popped the top part of the bird with pop-dots. I also popped some of the blooms for added interest.

Oh... and the enamel dots.... I finally get on the train of DIY enamel dots by melting some crafty beads. The only down fall so far is I can only get 1 size beads. I probably could get a smaller pop dots if only I could figure out how to cut the beads in half neatly without cutting my own finger, which I haven't been able to.

Check out Purple Onion Designs blog for more projects using the new stamps. Thanks so much for swinging by here.

Purple Onion New Releases: Oscar

Hi all. I am so excited to be joining Purple Onions Design for their Stacey Yacula's new releases. I love, love, love Stacey's cute critters! In fact all my Purple Onions stash are all Stacey's stuff.

A few weeks ago, out of the blue, I got this sweet email asking if I'd like to guest designing for Purple Onions for their new releases. Being a fan of Stacey's designs, I immediately reply yes, yes, yes. I mean, how could I resist?!

Sure enough, when I got the stamps, I was all aw.... how cute. And hubby had to go through the stamp with me as I was showing him... look at this one! And this one! Hah... Yep, the way to my heart is through cute critters. Without further delay, let me introduce you to Oscar!

I think Oscar is adorable with his sweet, little smile. I had lots of fun making this card. For the background, I sandwiched a sheet of wax paper in between the hexagon embossing folder. Then, I ironed the wax paper to a cardstock panel and add the colors with distress ink. The melted wax create an emboss resist effect that's just super cool. Die-cut the word hello directly on the panel and then added the panel to the card base.

With the CAS design of this card, I am also entering this card to Simon Says Stamps Keep It Simple challenge.

All the new stamps are available starting today at Purple Onions Design. To Michelle, thank you so much for having me and for this opportunity. I am so honored and delighted to work with Purple Onions.

Well, peeps, please come back tomorrow as I'll have more cute Purple Onions card to share with you. I hope you enjoy the new releases. Check out the store and let me know if you have a favorite. :) May your Friday be a good one. Cheers....

Xyron & Teresa Collins

Hi all. This whole week, CardMaker blog is teaming up with Xyron & Teresa Collins and hosting a blog hop.

Each of us on CardMaker design team received some fun goodies from Xyron & Teresa Collins to play with. For the hop, I made an elegant thank you card that you could see on CardMaker blog. And, of course as always, when there's a hop there's fun giveaway as well. So, check it out, will you.

Now, since I am enjoying playing with the goodies, I made an additional project o share on my own blog. It's another thank you card and this time it's more CAS style.

The patterned paper come in just black and white and I changed the look by coloring the frame in blue & teal and then change the pattern a bit by stamping an image in green in between all the frame. The origami stamp is from Altenew.

Well, that's it from me for today. Please, visit Ain’t She Crafty and Teresa Collins to see what inspiring projects they’re sharing today! Thanks so much for stopping by here. have a blessed Thursday.

Make A Wish

For someone who loves animal, any stamp set that has cute critters easily find their way to my heart. Right now, I am  loving the critters from Avery Elle Storybook set.

With its sweet images, I created this sweet, mini spring card. I am also entering this card for Simon Says Stamp animal antics challenge.

The patterned paper is from Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic set. And, as much as I love fussy cutting, when you're short in time, it sure is nice to have the (Storybook) matching dies handy. Added some spotlight/disco gold sequins to make the  card feel a bit more festive.

I will have to make quite a few mini cards in the next 2 months. My SIL owns a bakery and for all her special order she always included a handmade mini card. I will be visiting my family again in a couple months and will be giving a bunch of mini cards to my SIL, so definitely need to stock up. :)

Well, I still have tons of stuff to do. I'll see you on the next post. xo

Best Wishes

Hi everyone. Happy Sunday and happy Easter. We celebrated with the family and now that everyone is full and taking nap, I decided to do a quick post.

This week I received my i {heart} papers goodies and included in my order are Avery Elle Storybook stamps & dies set. This set has such a whimsical feeling to it that i just have to get it. :)

And, when I saw Taheerah's Cure For The Monday Blues challenge #13, I found the perfect inspiration for my card. And, double whammy, I get to enter this card for Simon Says Stamp animal antics challenge.

However, instead of going all neon, I went for softer hues.

For the background, I made my own stencil. I use my Silhouette to cut a sheet of acetate with background pattern. Then, once that done I used my new Mini Ink Blending Tool to fill in the colors. I really refer this smaller blending tool as I can have more control over the area I am coloring.

You couldn't quite see it in the pictures, but I also added Wink of Stella glitter in clear on the circles, so there's beautiful shimmer on this card.

Hope you all have beautiful Sunday. Cheers....

Altenew

There's a new stamp company whose debut releases totally amazed me. I mean, from the moment I saw their sneak peek, I know I am going to love them! I made my shopping list with each new sneak peek. I am talking about Altenew.

Altenew owned by the talented Jennifer Rzasa & Tasnim. And I just love their trendy and modern sets. I placed my order on opening day and it arrived wrapped neatly in tissue paper with golden star and a personal thank you note. I was impressed and after petting the sets a few times, I went to play right away and made this card.

Yep, yep, this company jump to my favorite list right away. No, I am not working for them, nor do I affiliate with them. I am gushing about them just because I love their set. That's it. You know how we card maker can go googoo gaga over stamps, right? ;)

I want to play more with the Painted Flower set. This set is simply stunning and I am looking forward to play with this set more.

Enjoy your Wednesday!!

Pie & Lattes

I think we all could always use a chuckle or a smile, right? With that in mind, I want to share this Riley's card that I hope make you smile. Hah... this is so me!! Except, I am not a fan of pie. I'd rather have cheesecake than pie. ;)

Cherish You

Hi peeps. About a couple weeks ago, I get to share this card & the tutorial on how to make it on CardMaker blog. But, I haven't share it here, so I thought why not. Hah... that and the fact that I don't have new card to share and that I love this card.

I just love that little birdie. I was really happy with the way this card turn out. Maybe this weekend I'll play with this wax emboss resist technique again.

Well, short post today. I woke up with my shoulders hurting all over. Am guessing that being sandwiched between 2 dogs did this. At least I have good excuse to get a massage later. For now, I need to take it easy. Happy Wednesday!

Happy Gotcha Day!

Last night as I was playing around my craft room, I realized that I have so many stamp sets that din't get enough love. And that makes me feel bad. So, I decided to find an inspiration and using sets that I haven't been using for a while.

I found this sweet inspiration pic from Taheerah's Cure For The Monday Blues # 12.

With rescue dog, we don't know when they're actual birthday, so we celebrate the adoption day, what we called "Happy Gotcha Day". At first, I started this card thinking to make birthday card. But then, I saw the heart paw stamp and change my mind and came up with this card instead:

The "happy sentiment is from Avery Elle Fill In The Blank set. And the sweet heart paws & puppy are from Paper Smooches Paws For A Cause set. The yellow patterned paper is from American Crafts Splendid Sunshine 6x6 paper pad. I figure a little shimmer never hurt, so I brushed the heart paws with Wink of Stella Brush Glitter Marker. All of these available at i {heart} papers store.

That's it for me today. Thank you so much for stopping  by here. May your day be a sweet one.

Slightly over a week ago, I was on pin and needles waiting to see if I am lucky enough to get in for Stamping Royalty again. I won Stamping Royalty back in 2012 in Birthday category and decided to try my luck again. To my delight....., this happened!

Yep, yep .... I am one of the 5 girls who got picked for 2014 Stamping Royalty Honorable Mention. And, when the July issue come out, people get to vote on the card for their favorite. Congrats to all the Honorable Mention girls!! I am honored to share this with all these talented girls.

More Fresh Cut Floral Card

Hi peeps. How's your weekend? For me, this weekend been all about family time. I had my cousin and aunt visiting from Wyoming. It's great to catch up with them. Of course, as usual when we have family visiting, we do the whole big family dinner with everyone. It's fun. As I grow older, I appreciate this moment more and more.

Then this Sunday is taking it easy day and I am catching up on my reading. I do have a card to share though. I made this card a couple nights ago. Sharing more Wplus9 & Technique Tuesday goodness.

I used all the goodies I got from i {heart} papers to make this card. The flower are from Wplus9 More Fresh Cut and the sentiment is from Technique Tuesday Say It - Happy set (this set is currently out of stock at i {heart} papers, but there's plenty of other Technique Tuesday sets for your to check  out at the store).  I also use More Fresh Cut Dies to help me make this card in a jiffy. And, for  the flower I used Hero Arts ink cubes (including Soft Cantaloupe & Mint Julep from Garden set and Unicorn from Blackboard set).

Oh, by the way, I found this cool app on FB and I've been having a blast playing with it. Watch it and you'll see how this could be so addicting!! Enjoy! :)

Radiant Neon Blog Hop

Hi everyone and welcome to Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko & Card Maker radiant neon blog hop. You sh ould arrive here from Nancy Hawes blog.

I am so excited when I found out about this hop. Tsukineko is well known for their great quality products and I've been using their products for years. When I received the neon ink pads, I couldn't wait to get inky and these ink pads do not disappoint! The colors are brilliant.

Since, I've been into flowers lately, I decided to make a bright color flowery card.

I just love this radiant neon collection. The juicy pad gives even coverage and stamp wonderfully. To tone down the bright flowers a bit, I used chalk for the center of the flowers "AND BLEND" (psst... this is my electric word that you need to collect!) it with cotton ball. And, of course, I have to add a little bit of gold by adding a gold strip to fancy up the card a little bit. Bright, bold and beautiful is the goal. What do you think?

Also, Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko is hosting a giveaway of a full set of Radiant Neon ink pads. To enter for a chance to win, please visit each blog and collect a word or set of words to complete a sentence. Full details of the giveaway will be on Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko blog.

From here, please hop on over to Debbie Gaetz. In case you miss any link, you can always find the complete list of participant at CardMaker blog. Thank you so much for stopping by here. Enjoy your Friday. :)

Wishing I Could Be There

Today, my big brother, Jeff is celebrating his 44th birthday. If you've been following my blog for a while, you know how much I love and admire my brothers.

Growing up, yes, like any family, we argued, got irritated with each other, etc., yet, I always have tremendous respect from him. Whenever we have serious talk, getting advise from him could make me cry (I know it sounds silly and of course, I don't let him know that I wanted to cry, although probably it's written all over my face).

He's quiet and I didn't even realize his silly side till we're all grown up. I think to a lot of people they view him as a serious person. When he bust the move on my younger brother's wedding, a lot of people were surprise that he got skill. LOL.

Besides my parents, my brothers are the two people I look up to for so many reasons. Last year, Jeff showed me how sometime you have to make risky decision and take a chance in order to do what's right. You can read it all on this post titled, "Saving A Life". He makes me feel so proud. So very proud.

Today, I am celebrating this wonderful person and I so wish I could be there to celebrate with him and my whole family.

To Jeff, happy birthday and thank you for everything. I love you and thankful to have you as my big brother. I wish I could be there to wish you happy birthday in person, but for now, I hope through this blog post you know that I celebrate you. Love, your li'l sister. :)

Hello Sweet

I was looking through my card folder and realized I have quite a few cards made that I never share here. Including this one:

Sweet & simple. I've been loving the bright blue color lately. Although, if you ask hubby he'd say, what do you mean lately. He claims everything I pick always have some kind of blue on it. And, I'd say there's many kind of blue and they're not the same. Hah...

I hope your day will be a sweet one. Cheers...

Something Shiny

Happy Tuesday and happy April's Fool Day everyone! Today, I am back with a card that fit for 2 challenges. Yay, me. ;) Not often, where it happen that I can actually plan for a card that fit for more than 1 challenge.

This month, Naughty or Nice Challenge comes up with "For The Ladies" theme and Riley & Company has monochromatic challenge.

And, here's my card using Riley & Company's Retro Folks & Funny Bones stamp.

I do love this sentiment. It reminds me when we were at CHA and how hard it was to stay as a group, because one of us always stray because we see beautiful stuff. LOL, we always said, "Squirrel!!" when one of us started to wonder. Whether it's something shiny or pretty papers, we girls do get distracted by pretty things, don't we?

I hope you will play along with both challenge! Show us what you got, be nice or be naughty or be monochromatic, we want to see it! :)

So, with today being an April's Fool Day, do you have something up your sleeve to play on people? I don't, but, hey... you never know. Either way, enjoy your day and hope you'll smile or laugh a lot today. Cheers....
