Happy 6th Anniversary

Happy anniversary to hubby and I! Six years ago, I married this wonderful man who I am lucky to share my life with. I knew we're good together when we started a renovation project and finish it without fighting. Oh... did I mention we met at work and now 3 companies later, we still works together? Yep...

LOL, a few months ago, I got in li'l trouble for miscalculating our anniversary. Hubby was saying  how I should let him buy a nice jewelry for our anniversary. So, I said, okay you can buy me nice jewelry for our 5th anniversary. Well, he was silent for a while, and then he said that's already pass!! Hah...

I am just a practical girl at heart. I don't like wearing much jewelry. I just wear my wedding ring, engagement ring and my Reiki necklace that my mom gave me. So, since I rarely change jewelry, I figure why bother buying more jewelry if I don't wear it.

Anyway, a lovely lady said to me that it would be nice to have jewelry that has some meaning. She said it doesn't have to be expensive as long as it has meaning. So, I relented and hubby is getting me a living locket with plate that personalized with our initial and wedding date, a plate that has the word "blessed", since that's how we view our life and a pug charm (after all pug is a BIG part of our life).

They're on their way, since it took me a while to decide what I want. :) I just want to tell my hubby thank you for being such a thoughtful and loving husband. He never raises his voice to me, patient even when I am grumpy, supportive of my paper crafting hobby, take the doggies out early every morning even when he doesn't want to, and most of all he just loves me for who I am with my imperfection and all. I am blessed and thankful.

I made this card for hubby:

On my recent order from i {heart} papers I ordered Teresa Collins Save The Date 6x6 paper pad and I just love it! I made this card using all the patterned paper from this beautiful pad. One of the paper has blocked quotes and they're just what I needed.

Since it's our anniversary, how about sharing a couple pics from our wedding at Playa Del Carmen? Sigh... we looks so young. I do not have a single strand of gray hair back then.

Happy anniversary to my dear hubby!! And, happy Friday everyone.....

Purple Onion Critters Love

A couple years ago, I used to think making cards with flowers were a challenge. They weren't my favorite images to use. Now, I noticed that I've been doing a lot more cards with flowers. I kind of miss my cutesy critters.

So, last night, I decided to take out my Purple Onion stamps and play with Puddles, Buttercup & Peanuts for their Birthday challenge.

The triangle background was my left over from trying out the faux letterpress technique. I used the Lifestyle Crafts embossing folder and rub it with various color ink pad and then emboss the paper. The result is the gradient color background.

I was like... aw... cuteness... where have you been. I haven't done much cute design lately and it's kind of refreshing to go back to it. :)

Oh, also... if you would kindly check out CardMaker blog today, I'd so appreciate it. I am sharing a fun technique there. Here's a sneak peek of my card. Can you guess what technique I am sharing?? And, isn't the bird cute??

Thank you for your visit here and I'll see you on the next post. Cheers....

Clean & Simple

Hi peeps. I've been wanting to try out this technique as shown on Online Card Classes Clean Simple 3.

I think next time I want to use brighter colors, though.  I use Hero Arts stamp for the background. It's one of my favorite Hero Arts stamp, because it's so pretty.

I decided to do Mother's Day card early as I have a girl in my office building that been asking me for some Mother's Day cards.

So, what do you think of online classes? I find myself enjoying them more and more. Of course, I am still selective on which classes to take, but so far the classes I've taken been fun and informative. I just wish I have more time to practice what I learned. Time... we all can use some more extra time in the day, don't we?

Hope you enjoy today's card. Oh... by the way, tomorrow is my day at CardMaker blog and I hope you will check it out as I love the card that I made for the post. See you tomorrow. :)

A Thousand Rainbow

Hi everyone and happy Monday. I finally get to play and try out the techniques I learned from Clean & Simple 3 class.

My mojo is no where to be found at the moment, so I just follow the sample as shown by the super talented Laura Bassen. Her style is simply amazing. And, here's my card casing her card.

I am love the cheerful colors on this card. Once my mojo come back, I plan on trying this technique again. For now... my mind is on tax. Yup, time for that stressful time of  trying to get our tax ready. Tax can totally kill creative mood like no one's business, don't you think?

I know... I am whining. LOL, but I sure do hate doing tax. Even getting all the receipts ready is pain! Well, I better get busy. Hope your week starts off fabulously!

Happy Spring

Happy Friday! And happy spring. My favorite season of the year, where flower blooms and everything looks pretty. :) Oh, not to mention the nice weather.

Somehow, yesterday I kept thinking it was Wednesday instead of Thursday. It's been one of those week, where there's just craziness all around. I am so ready for the weekend.

Anyway, last night I was finally able to sit down and play. I made this card for i {heart} papers.

The soft color patterned paper is from Dear Lizzy Day Dreamer 6x6 paper pad. And since the background has a soft tone, for contrast I created the flowers with bright colors to make them stand out. The gorgeous flowers and sentiment are from Avery Elle Laurels set with its matching dies.

BTW, have you check outthe store lately? They have lots of new goodies in. So, if you need some enabling... hah.... please check out i {heart} papers. May your weekend starts off wonderfully.

Thinking Of You

Hi peeps. Today, I have a card to share that I made for i {heart} papers.

This time I do minimal stamping and let patterned paper be the focus. I use Simple Stories Vintage Bliss 6x6 paper pad. The flower is also from the same paper pad, I simply fussy cut it from one of the patterned paper.

The sentiment is from Wplus9 Fresh Cut Florals set (my most used set ever!) and the enamel dot is from Doodlebug Bumblebee Sprinkles. I am so addicted to enamel dots. They are so fun to use.

Not much else to share at the moment. I've been working on submissions a lot, and then Monday night is definitely a non crafty night for the moment with The Voice going on. Tuesday also The Voice and Thursday Grey's Anatomy. Hah... I usually don't watch too much TV, but those 2 show is my  must watch. But, I might have to add Sunday night now, because of the new show Believe. It looks very interesting. Not totally hook on it, yet, but it has really good potential to be a favorite.

What's your must see shows? Anyway, I'll be back tomorrow with a card that will for sure make you laugh (or at least I hope so). See you tomorrow....

And, here's my card. Yes, it's one bright, happy pandamonium card! Can you guess what art work inspired this card? Yep... my own version of Andy Warhol. ;)

Then, since I was all inspired and my desk covered with stuff, I figured what the heck, just go ahead and make 1 more card. This time following this sketch.

Hm... yeah... you might need sunglasses for this one. Brightness!!

You Are Loved

Hi peeps. I am so sorry that I am behind in announcing the winner from WCMD Thank You Hop. So, without further delay, the winner of my giveaway is........... MARCI COLLINS!!

Congrats, Marcy. Please email me your mailing address.

BTW, have you seen the latest Card Creations, Vol. 12? If you haven't, run and get one! Okay, maybe don't run, drive. LOL. There's many, many awesome inspirations in this one magazine. I have sticky note all over this one.

And, I am excited to share that I have 5 cards published in this one. Here's one of the card. I picked this one to share here, since it's so springy and I am ready for spring.

I do love the way this card turned out. I basically create my own stencil using my ever reliable Mr. C (Silhouette Cameo). Once I cut the diagonal stripe  background, I used sponge dauber to dab in colors in the opening. And, using matching color, I stamped the flowers from Papertrey Ink Mini Blooms set into the wood veneer butterfly. The sentiment is from Elle's Studio.

Oh yes.... guess what?? Tomorrow we'll have a fun Card Creations Blog Hop to celebrate this issue!!  Hope you'll join the hop and I'll see you tomorrow.

Oh, oh... one more thing...., I am up on i {heart} papers blog today. I'd love for you to check it out. Thanks so much.

Z Becky Brown and CardMaker Blog Hop

Hi and welcome to Z Becky Brown and CardMaker blog hop. I am glad you can join us. You should arrive here from Cheryl Walker. In case you're missing any link, you can find  the complete list at CardMaker blog.

When we first get the notification for the hop, I was really curious as this was my first time hearing about the company. But, as I browse their site, I got excited just looking at all the options they have.

You have the option to pick ready to use background or create your own. For my ready to use background, I picked this cute & cheerful tropical theme. I just love this! Isn't it super cute?

Next, I play with creating my own scheme. I love collecting cute stuff. In high school and college I used to collect book mark, trolls (yes, those cute thing with colorful hair), and other random stuff. If it's cute, has animal image or word of wisdom, I like to collect them.

So, for my first cover, I created this cover that said, "You Are My Happy Place". Pretty much this tote box would hold those cute stuff that do take me to my happy place just by looking at them. I used the patterned paper from Heidi Grace collection and the dies and stamp from Papertrey Ink Phrase Play #1 set.

I had so much fun playing with this, that I decided to create a second cover. As much as I am a homebody, one of my passion is travelling. Whether it's in the States or abroad, hubby and I made it a point to go somewhere new every year. I love learning new cultures, see new places. I think travelling open your world and your mind.

And, when we  travel we always collect souvenirs, maps, tickets, and other memorabilia. So, for my second box cover, I created a travel theme. I can store those memorabilia in here till it's ready to go into our scrapbook. For this one, I used Elle's Studio patterned paper and Technique Tuesday Geotags set.

Seriously, the possibilities are endless. Wouldn't it be cool to create one for your kids? Each of them can have their special handbag?

And, Z Beck Brown handbags are made in USA and they are God's creation friendly, made  of a renewable resource & eco friendly natural polymer which comes from the sap of pine trees.

I hope you enjoy today's hop and find lots of inspirations. From here please hop on over to Z Becky Brown. Thank you so much for stopping by here and may your week starts off wonderfully!

PS: If you'd like to get your very own Z Becky Brown handbag they have a sale going on right now. See below.

WCMD Thank You Hop

Hi everyone and welcome  to WCMD Thank You Hop. I still remember, like it was just yesterday when I found out I was one of the winner for 2013 World Card Making Day. To say I was excited was an understatement. I had to read the announcement twice just to make sure I wasn't mistaken.  :)

Soon after, someone suggested a hop and of course, we all love blog hop, right? So, all of us jump in and here we are.

You should have arrived here from my sweet & talented friend's blog Trinh Arrieta. Our challenge is to create a card using our winning goodies (and... psst... there's a giveaway below) in the category that we won in.

I won in birthday category, so I get to create another birthday card. Here's my card using patterned paper from Jillibean plus tag embellishment and alphabet sticker from October Afternoon.

This card comes together pretty quick and I love how all the elements work together the way I envision it. I love the fact that I get to use the alphabet sticker and mixing it with stamp sentiment. Note to self: don't be shy to mix sticker & stamp.

As usual, when I received something, I like to share as well. So many people has been so supportive and always cheering me on and I want to thank you by doing a little giveaway. I am giving away this Spellbinders Captivating Squares and Hero Arts Shadow Ink. Most likely I will also throw in some additional goodies. ;)

Simply leave a comment here by midnight Tuesday, March 4 and I will pick a winner on Wednesday.

From here, please hop on over to Veronica Zalis. Thank you all so much for stopping by here and I wish you all a fabulous weekend.

In case you missed any link, here's a complete list of the hop participants:
