Kate & John Wedding Blog Hop

Happy Monday, everyone! As some of you might know, recently the owner of i {heart} papers, Kate, got married and she just got back from her honeymoon. She's a pretty awesome boss and today we'd like to take the time to surprise her and congratulate her and her hubby on their recent wedding.

To Kate & John, I wish you both many, many years of happiness:

For  my card, I used the pretty patterned paper from Teresa Collins Memories 6x6 paper pad and Echo Park Bundle of Joy Boy and Echo Park Bundle of Joy Girl 6x6 paper pad. The feather were cut using Wplus9 Fanciful Feathers die set and outline with gold embossing powder. Of course the flower is from my favorite flower set of all time, Wplus9 Fresh Cut Florals.

With the dash of gold outline on the feathers and some dab of  gold dots around it, I am entering this card for Moxie Fab All That  Glitter is Gold challenge.

Below is the complete list of the hop participants. I hope you will take the time to check them all out. Thank you so much for stopping by here.

Thank You

Helloooo Monday!! Good byeee Monday! ;)

This Monday been cray, cray. I spent my whole day at work working on some accounting & tax stuff. Stuff that I really, really dislike. I love my job as purchasing manager, but when I have to dabble on the accounting stuff, it makes my brain hurts. Hah... I feel like I got crossed eyes from looking at numbers all day long.

I couldn't wait to get home to play with pretty papers and feasting my eyes on Adam Levine. Yeah....  The Voice is back on and I am loving it. Glad to have the old team back together.

Between watching The Voice and playing with papers and stamps, I came up with this card for my i {heart} papers post.

Yep, still loving this sweet deer from Lawn Fawn Into The Woods set. And, love the matching Into The Woods 6x6 paper pad as well. The sentiment is from Neat & Tangled Across The Card set. I simply trim the line and use just the sentiment part.

Now, time to continue playing with some pretty papers. I have to balance my vision as tomorrow morning it's back to looking at numbers. Have a fabby evening everyone.

Handmade Cards Blog Hop

Hi everyone and welcome to Paper Crafts Handmade Cards Blog Hop! Yep, today we are celebrating this latest special issue from Paper Crafts that filled with so many fabulous projects. You should arrive here from Sarah J. Moerman blog. If not, you can always find the link for all the participants below.

I am very excited over this issue. After all, I am still pinching myself that I have 7 projects published on this issue. Am so grateful & happy over this.

For today's hop, we were asked to create project with certain amount of supplies. My assignment is to create a card using 7 supplies. Looks like today is all about the number 7 for me. Hm... maybe I should buy lottery ticket? Hah.... Here's my card:

The supplies I used are:
1. Cardstock (Aqua Mist from Papertrey Ink)
2. Stamp (Feathers from Wplus9 Fanciful Feathers set)
3. Ink pads (Hero Arts Tide Pool, Papertrey Ink Berry Sorbet, MementoTuxedo Black)
4. Dies (Feathers from Wplus9 Fanciful Feathers set)
5. Glitter tape (American Crafts)
6. Patterned paper (for the bird from My Mind's eye paper pad)
7. Black enamel (Ranger)

At first, I was worried that 7 supplies would be hard to fulfill. But, as it turned out I could easily use more than that. This challenge definitely makes me realize even CAS card could use more than 7 supplies. And, I am happy that I finally putting my American Crafts gold glitter tape to use. It's been sitting in my drawer brand new for over a year! Yikes...

With this little speck of gold, I am entering this card for Moxie Fab All That Glitter Is Gold challenge.

Of course, no hop would be complete without a giveaway. Paper Crafts is giving each of us an extra copy of this issue to giveaway. Simply leave a comment here by midnight CST, Tuesday, September 24, 2013.

That's it from me. Thank you so much for stopping by here. I really appreciate your visit. From here, please hop on over to Vanessa Menhorn blog.

You Are One of My Nicest Thoughts

Hi all. Through out this week, There She Stamp is highlighting some previously released sets. You can see the post for Home Sweet Home Halloween Addition, You're A Hoot, and Pumpkins On The Vine on TSG Blog.

For today, the Trendsetters were asked to create new project using one of those set. As usual, I can;t resist sweet image, so I created my card using Pumpkins On The Vine set.

I love that squirrel! :) Actually when it comes to card making, fall theme card is one of the biggest challenge for me. I mean, I love the fall color in nature, but when it comes to cards, they are my least favorite color combo to use. Luckily, I have this old stash of SEI patterned paper that I thought is perfect for fall card and use that as the base for my card.

I know that my fellow Trendsetters are amazing and you can check out  their fabulous project at There She Goes blog. Thanks so much for stopping by here. Please come back in a few hours as I will have a  fun blog hop going on to celebrate the latest special issue from Paper Crafts!

You Are My Greatest Joy

Happy humpday! Phew.. it's only Wednesday? I feel like I haven't slow down for even a bit since last Friday. I've been go, go, go. I feel like my brain keep whirling. Hah...

Well, all those brain activity, also produce this bright card that I made for i {heart} papers using the super adorable chipmunk from Lawn Fawn Into The Woods set.

I am sooo loving this sunburst background, which I cut using Mr. C (Silhouette cameo). I traced stickles on each side of the sun rays to give some extra details.  The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday Loving Words set by Ali Edwards.

I decided to do the sentiment sideways, which I think added the fun  feature on this card. What do you think? Yay? Nay? I just didn't want to cover the sunburst.

BTW, there's more new stuff added at i {heart} papers. Go check them out!

Well, that's all for me right now. Another buy day at the office waiting. Enjoy your humpday! :)

Note: I Love You

This week, Some Odd Girl is releasing another fun and fab cut file called Night Sky. I love the whimsical feeling of the design and created a sweet card by combining it with one of the doggy from my favorite set Preppy Pups

I simply layered the back with various color cardstocks to create the night sky scenery. And, I didn't glue the tail part, so I can curl it up to give it extra dimension. Almost everyone in my family are dog lovers, so any card with puppy on it will guarantee that it will get used. ;)

Besides the cut file, Some Odd Girl is also releasing a couple Halloween digis and I get to play with Cauldron Tia.

I traced the circle with Stardust stickles, so  the circle actually has a nice glitter around it. Tried as I might, with  the lighting condition I had, I just couldn't capture the glitter nicely. The star sprinkles also covered with stickles.

What do you think? Fun digi, right? Now, don't forget to check out Some Odd Girl blog to see more inspiration! :)

Stamping Weekend

This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of crafting with Angi Barrs. She and her daughter, Rachel, came all the way from  the Woodlands to my neck of the wood and we had so much fun chatting and crafting. While we're crafting, Rachel who loves dogs, keep my puppies entertained. :)

Of course, you know how it is when you're crafting with friend. You tend to chat more then doing the actual crafting. Oh yes, we even sneak in a trip to Michael's after lunch.

Here's a peek of me and Angi creating.

Angi working on her layout.

Please ignore the messy desk behind me. ;)

At the end of the night, we actually did completed some project. Angi finished a card, a layout and another half done layout. I completed 2 cards. Here's one of the card:

At first, my plan was just stamped the herringbone background with versamark. But, looking at it I feel that it looked too plain. So, I gently remove the tag and added color to the herringbone pattern using pastel to add the color gradient. Then put the tag back.

And, for some extra embellishment I added some glitters. The brad is courtesy of Angi from her My Mind's Eye stash. Another added benefit of crafting with a friend, you can raid each other stash. :)

Angi, thank you so much for making the drive down. I had so much fun!! Well, that's it from me today, creative peeps. Thanks so much for stopping by here. May your Monday starts off fabulously!

Moxie Fab: In Transition

When I first saw this week Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger: In Transition inspiration pic, I wasn't sure if I want to play along or not. Here's the inspiration pic:

I think it was because at the beginning I was too focus on the stripe. Then, I saw CASE Study challenge # 157 and suddenly it struck me how I want to do this challenge. Love it when 2 challenges work it ways into 1 card.

And, this is what I came up with:

This time instead of focusing on the line, I focus on how the color change. To create this card, I first cut the herringbone pattern background using my Silhouette. Then I used it as a template/mask. Using the sponge dauber I dab the colors one by one. I love how the bright color combo make this into such a happy card.

Then I stamped the sentiment on a piece of vellum and adhere the vellum to the card. Added a couple enamel dots. You know.... I resisted this enamel dots for so long and now I am hooked! Love it more than rhinestone or pearl sticker.

Bright color card makes me happy. :) Hope your weekend been a happy one!

Sweet & Salty

Well, yesterday I had my first experience for jury duty. Basically, I had to wait for about 3 hours at the court house waiting to hear whether I get selected or not. There were 4 hearings going on and we were waiting to find out whether any of them would end up in jury trial and if yes, thenthey randomly select 36 people for each trial for further jury selection.

My name didn't get called. And, I am off the jury duty call for the next 3 years. Ha.... I had to play prank on my boss, though. I texted him that I got picked. Normal reaction that I expected, he freak out and call my hubby (we work for the same company) to check whether I am joking or not. Yep, we are known to pull prank on each other.

I could just see the way his mind thinking that work going to just piled up and then we'll have to do crazy catching up. I called him afterwards to let him know I am just kidding. ;) Moment like this is when I count my blessings that I work with someone that makes work fun!

Anyway, today back to normal work schedule. And... I am back with the latest release from Some Odd Girl called Sweet & Salty.

Sweet-and-Salty

Here's my card using the cupcake:

3 patterned papers on 1 card!! Goodness, all those layering! ;)

The Oddies has created some fabulous & fun samples using this set. Check them all out HERE.
Also, today I am over at There She Goes Stamp blog. Check out my post & creation HERE.

Have fabulously sweet day!

Hi everyone and welcome to Kelly Marie's surprise birthday party blog hop. I met Kelly Marie in 2010 at summer CHA right after she started Lawn Fawn. Speaking about cute cup, I have this adorable cup from Some Odd Girl newest clear stamp release.

This cute cup is part of Breakfast Friends set, one of the 3 new sets that being released this week. I just love its cute face and being a cup, I thought  pairing it up with a doily is a perfect match. And, did you notice the steam have a heart shape? Sprinkle in some sequins for fun and this card is perfect to brighten anyone's day, don't you think?

Birthday Feather & Flower

At last minute I decided to play along Wplus9 Monday Mood Board #19 challenge. My order from i {heart} papers came in last week and this challenge is a perfect chance for me to use the new Wplus9 Fanciful Feathers set with the matching die.

Before, I added anything to the panel, I sprayed it with Heidy Swapp gold shine spray first. I used quite a few Wplus9 products on this card. The small flowers & leaves are from Fresh Cut Florals set, the big flower is from an older set called Hope Seed Co and the sentiment from Spring Post set.  I stamped all the feathers using a color inkpad and a gold color inkpad.

Am pretty happy with the way this card turned out. Love the color combination. The sandy golden color paper is actually pearl paper that has beautiful sheen. In person, it really add elegant shimmering look to the card. This card is a great reminder for me to use those pearl paper more often!

That's it from me. Now, time to get back to the craft table and create more. :)

ETA: I am entering this card to All That Glitters is Gold Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Hello Foxy

Hi everyone. Today I am sharing a card for i {heart} papers. They just got a bunch of new stuff added to the store. One of the set that I snatched right away the moment I saw it popping in the store is Lawn Fawn Into The Woods set. It was love at first sight with this set.

For this card, I used the patterned paper from Into The Woods 6x6 petite paper pack. The lacy patterned paper that peek from underneath the tag is from Teresa Collins Memories 6x6 pad. Yep, I had to go with the hello sentiment, because as soon as I have this cute fox on my hand, my first reaction was, "Hello there sweetie pie..". ;)

Happy Friday and have a fabby weekend!!

Sprinkle With Love

I actually made the project for today's post a few weeks ago for a tutorial on Some Odd Girl blog. But, I haven't share it here on my blog.

This gift box was so much fun to make.

The opening on the box is actually covered with a piece of acetate, that way whatever I put in there wouldn't just fall out the box.

Besides holding present, simply by changing the height of the bottom piece, I could turn this into a cupcake holder. Fun, right?

That's it from me. Not much else to share at the moment. Just work, work, work. :)

Star & Sweet Wishes

Why is it, that even though you have long weekend, it still feel short? Anyway, today back to work and lots of catching up to do.

And I have this sweet card to share with you. As you know every week Some Odd Girl is releasing some new digis. This week, one of them is the Fall Star Background cut file.

The scatter of star falling is just so pretty! And, I am trying to work on my holiday cards in advance this year as hint... hint... annual card drive coming soon.

Isn't the stars makes such gorgeous background? And combine it with gold vellum... yum...mie. And, I just have to combine it with Deer Mae as well, which is one of my favorite SOG girl image of all time.

So, what do you think of this cute file? Need more inspiration? Please check out what the other Oddies has created for this week new releases HERE. Thank you for swinging by here and may your day be a sweet one.
